The Connection

Our Story

Dove Jones Connection

In 2011 Soho musician Dove Jones was asked to host the legendary Spice of Life Blues Jam in Soho. His music and the musicians he plays and records with evolved and developed out of that thriving Soho blues and new music scene, manifesting as a band, The Connection, in 2017.

The band was founded on the principle of group consciousness and making connections to ideas and audience members through extended improvisation within set frameworks of songs.

Based in the vibrant heart of Soho, London,The Connection is a passionate ensemble of like-minded musicians, renowned for weaving together threads of blues, jazz, funk, and soul into an intricate groove-tapestry of sound. As the frontman and  one of the Founding members of the band (along with Jai Hobbs, (lap-steel), Jon Steele (drums), and Patrick Mahon (trumpet) The Connection has been a cornerstone of Soho’s legendary New Blues & Jazz scene, which thrived at iconic venues like The Spice of Life.

For years, Dove & The Connection has held a celebrated residency and Jam Party at The Spice of Life, captivating audiences with their dynamic live performances and authentic sound.
